This event began multi-dimensional in purpose. Jumpers getting together to celebrate “Our 10″ and their lives that were lost in the tragic crash of N430A and also getting together to have a plain ol’ good time Skydive Idaho style!
It’s important to note that this is a celebration of the 10 souls who left us a bit too early. We structure this event to cater to both the skydiving community, and to those that watch from the ground.
Heidi Barker (Mother of Michelle Barker) and Rich Williams have been instrumental in continuing the memory of Our 10. To that point they have created the Michelle Barker Skydiving Scholarship. This scholarship provides money to qualifying individuals who wish to learn to skydive. The way that this fund is replenished is from both the skydiving community, and the non-skydivers alike. We donate a portion of the proceeds from certain things like raffles, competitions, and registration fees to this fund and Rich and Heidi get the pleasure of nominating individuals for the scholarship. To date we have seen quite a few jumpers become licensed as a result of their diligence and kindness!
It’s a very exciting and rewarding undertaking and we can’t say enough good things about Rich and Heidi! So keep up the phenomenal work you two! You are an encouragement to everyone around you!
If you wish to donate to the fund please contact Rich Williams.
Online donations will be accepted in the future.
